Our Christmas party was a wonderful end to an eventful year. Away from our political activities, we took time to celebrate together, exchange ideas and simply let the year come to an end. We diligently screen-printed Stop Right-Wing Pressure logos, competed in a fun pub quiz and enjoyed the community that makes us so strong. 🖤✊ 20
25 is just around the corner, and we look back with pride and gratitude on a year in which we achieved an incredible amount:🌍 We networked – not just in Jena, but throughout Thuringia.✊ We organized and carried out a variety of campaigns against the shift to the right.❤️ We worked together for a society based on solidarity in which “elbow against elbow” does not rule.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at events, actively participated or supported us in other ways. 🙌 2024 has also taken its toll – which makes these moments of coming together and recharging our batteries all the more important. We are taking a short break until the beginning of January before we start the anti-fascist year 2025 with full energy. 💥

CDU und FDP hatten eine aktuelle (halbe) Stunde im Stadtrat beantragt zum Thema “Gewalt gegen Studentenverbindungen ist inakzeptabel – alle Menschen haben ein Recht auf körperliche Unversehrtheit”. Anlass für CDU und FDP waren im wesentlichen der Angriff auf Mitglieder der #Burschenschaft#Germania am Eingangsbereich ihres Verbindungshauses am 23.11. sowie die Demo vor der Grünen Tanne bzw. der Burschenschaft Arminia am 24.10. gewesen. Hier werden wir einige Aussagen der Redner:innen wiedergeben und kritisch einordnen.
Bei der Germania handelt es sich um eine Kaderschmiede der extremen Rechten. Sie hat viele Verbindungen in die rechtsextreme Szene, insbesondere zu der identitären Bewegung, der jungen Alternative und der fckAfD. Die pflichtschlagende Burschenschaft Arminia ist Mitglied in der allgemeinen deutschen Burschenschaft (ADB). Im Gegensatz zur deutschen Burschenschaft (DB) wird zumindest auf einen Ariernachweis für Neumitglieder verzichtet. Hier gehen neben Mitgliedern der fckAfD, auch CDUler und FDPler ein und aus, eine Abgrenzung nach rechts außen existiert nicht.
Zur aktuellen Stunde saßen im vollen Zuschauer*innenraum Burschenschaftler (leicht an ihren Bändchen zu erkennen) und engagierte Demokrat:innen. Letztere konnten nicht hinnehmen, dass rechtsextreme Männerbünde einseitig als arme Opfer dargestellt werden, während zivilgesellschaftlicher Protest, wie vor der Grünen Tanne, kriminalisiert wird.
Petra Teufel (FDP) begründete den Antrag zum Thema damit, dass sich in Jena alle Menschen sicher fühlen müssen. Dies gelte genauso für Burschenschaftler wie z.B. für Frauen oder queere Menschen. Hier vergaß sie zu erwähnen, dass insbesondere Burschenschaftler (und andere Rechtsradikale) der Grund sind, warum sich Frauen, queere Menschen und Menschen mit Migrationsbiographie oftmals nicht sicher fühlen können. Und: Menschen können sich nicht aussuchen, ob sie queer, Frau oder Migrant:in sind. Ein rechtsradikaler Burschenschaftler ist man(n) aus freien Stücken. Natürlich heißen wir Gewalt gegen Burschenschaftler nicht gut. Allerdings haben sich Mitglieder rechter Burschenschaften ganz bewusst dafür entschieden, ein völkisches Weltbild zu vertreten, das bewusst auf die Ausgrenzung bestimmter Personengruppen abzielt. Zivilgesellschaftlicher Protest, wie vor der Grünen Tanne, darf deshalb nicht kriminalisiert werden.
Ein ordentliches ,,MiMiMi” kam natürlich auch von Wiebke Muhsal. Wie üblich keilte sie gegen alles, was nicht bei drei rechtsextrem ist. Gegen den OB teilte sie aus, weil er sich bei der Verabschiedung von Katharina König aus dem Stadtrat bei dieser bedankte, welche sich wiederum vor Jahren bei der “Antifa” bedankte. Außerdem fühlt sie sich von sogenannten “Linksextremen” bedroht. In der Realität sind allerdings sehr viele Menschen von Rechtsextremen bedroht. Abschließend zeigte sie sich beleidigt, dass die FSU das Burschidenkmal nicht wieder aufstellen will und in ihren Räumlichkeiten Veranstaltungen stattfinden, bei denen geplant wird, den fckAfD Parteitag zu blockieren (Niemand hat die Absicht einen Reichsparteitag zu blockieren).
Die verbliebenen demokratischen Parteien wiesen auf die Problematiken mit Burschenschaften hin, distanzierten sich selbstverständlich von Gewalt und forderten einen respektvollerer Umgang miteinander (auch im Stadtrat) ein. Sie verwiesen darauf, dass die Stadt für (vermutliche) Straftaten wie bei der Germania gar nicht zuständig, sondern dies Aufgabe der Polizei sei.
Wie betroffen und eingeschüchtert die Burschis sich fühlen, wurde einmal mehr deutlich, als diese am Ende der aktuellen Stunde den Saal verließen. Einer von ihnen zeigte das “White Power”-Zeichen in Richtung der Zuschauer:innen aus dem demokratischen Spektrum. Mit diesem Zeichen wollen extreme Rechte eine angebliche Überlegenheit einer „weißen Rasse“ zeigen.
“Antifas on the Offensive – Make Gera Nazi-Free! Every Monday, the fascist march, complete with Nazi symbols like Reich flags and the “Die Heimat” party flag, still goes through the center of Gera. No wonder, since the organizer is now active on the federal board of that same party. Furthermore, there are more young people to be seen at the Nazi demo. The heyday of the new “Gera Youth” as a youth front block seemed briefly to be over. For four weeks, this block was absent, and in the livestream, internal problems were discussed. Now, the frontmen and self-proclaimed “national socialists,” Pascal Chmielewski, Eric Vogelgesang, and Etienne Klupp, are back, albeit with a somewhat reduced following.
At the same time, this circle forms a vigilante group, which has been patrolling through the center of Gera, usually with dogs and baseball bats, for several weeks. Right-wing spatial appropriation par excellence. Incidents with people perceived as migrants have already occurred.
Since October 28th, the situation in Gera has become very peculiar: a former SPD member and former organizer of the Monday protests by the “Gera against the Right” action group began meeting with Christian Klar. Under the influence of alcohol and his own craving for recognition (the two fit well together), they were chumming around in a live YouTube stream and advocating for more “togetherness” in Gera. Internally, CPU justifies his betrayal with all sorts of absurdities like “the safety of demonstration participants.” Also involved in the Gera cross-front farce is former Left Party member Christian Rudolph, who, in all seriousness, referred to Christian Klar as an “antifascist” on the YouTube Nazi livestream.
Christian Klar’s cross-front conspiracies surfaced a few weeks ago. He organized a panel discussion on November 30, 2024, for which he contacted several people from different parties. He received rejections from most of the representatives. We explicitly welcome this clear anti-fascist stance, because there is no basis for discussion with representatives of an ideology that made Auschwitz possible! Therefore, join us for the rally on December 16, 2024 at 6 PM at Museumsplatz in Gera. Not an inch to the fascists!

Anti-feminism, misogyny and queerophobia are central to extreme right-wing ideology and the demands of the AfD. Their increasing acceptance by other politicians is a sign of the shift to the right even within democratic parties. The ever-increasing numbers of cases of male violence against FLINTA* people, including the murder of those affected, are also unacceptable. Therefore: no anti-fascism without feminism.
